Imprisonment or breakthrough?

When we have yet to be liberated, we can allow outside sources to imprison us. Whether it’s a relationship, a job, society, or religion. When the soul is free, you make an internal decision to not let anything have that kind of power over you.

When you truly recognize who you are in the deepest sense, you gain the power to protect your spirit. Many occurrences in life may seem to try to bring your spirit down, but we have the power to control where we go. Occurrences are temporary, they are in no way the final answer to what our lives will be. We can elongate those feelings that accompany these experiences by dwelling in the past or we can acknowledge the lesson and use it to make us stronger when moving on. Nothing can take away our power of choice unless, of course, we choose to. I know there are unpredictable things that happen that are out of our control, but we can always choose how we perceive it. They are usually outside of us, but we choose to internalize these battles as something that is a part of us, some of us don’t realize that it’s still a choice! It is just one decision that can be the difference between suffering (dwelling) and freedom (letting go of what doesn’t serve us).

The choice is yours. Always.
